An American Elephant in Tokushima

end of the week

Ahh, the end of the week.

Lately, I’ve felt a bit more unguarded, more natural in my interactions with the people I work with. It’s keen. I taught a French lesson today to the kids who are going to France in a few weeks.

I bet that’s because of the musical. Being at practice all day, I definitely loosen up and let more of my natural actions and reactions show. Though, I also wind up suppressing a lot of reactions, for the sake of politeness… being around foreigners causes me to react a lot stronger to annoyance than being around Japanese folks does.

The end of the week this week brings wild winds and rainy weather. It’s alright, cool, but warm enough. I bought some bits for my musical costume, wrapped up my lesson plans for next week, and bought some odds and ends out shopping.

Oh! I got a new iPod. it’s a purple nano. I’m really excited about it, and I’ve been dancing around to music that only I can hear. It was a complete impulse buy, but I am completely satisfied and happy with it.

Yesterday, I went to Heart Tokushima. They have such great little puppies there! And lots of lovely cats.

I’m home now, after a long day at rehearsal. I ate at a place called Tomato and Onion for dinner. They specialized in “hambagu”, which is like a meatloaf in the shape of a hamburger, without the bun. I had Italian hamburg, which was a patty covered in cheese and tomato slices, with a side of 7 fries, corn, and a bit of broccoli. Also, I ate some pita-like bread and a Strawberry Daifuku with cream for dessert. BLISS.
