This morning I went to my first onsen! It was amazing. Just a bit, steaming room of hot pools, and an outside set as well!

It snowed all last night, great buckets all over the mountains. We were out west, far past Mt. Tsurugi, staying on tatami floors in a cabin by the mountains. In the morning, we cleaned snow from the cars and went to the onsen next door.

In the cold, it was absolutely the most perfect thing in the world. We came out feeling relaxed and happy and ready for sleep. We ate warm noodles and, unfortunately, bundled ourselves off to rehearsal in a freezing cold school gym.

Rehearsal was fun. We made props and sets the entire time. Truly, if we hadn’t all just been to the onsen and warmed up our cores, we wouldn’t have made it.

I definitely don’t need anything else except onsens. It was nice. It felt really good. Just sitting in the heat, relaxing with people I like, people I don’t like, people I don’t know… it was all really good.

We need more hot baths, less cold pricklies.
